In 2020, the City of Bogalusa contracted with IBTS to conduct an organizational assessment of the City of Bogalusa. Our efforts included primary research efforts, local government expertise, and benchmarking data developed from a sample of 16 cities to identify gaps and prioritized recommendations to support the City’s goals of increasing efficiencies, lowering operating costs, and incorporating best practices.

Description of Project: After the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, the State of Louisiana contracted with IBTS to assist in its efforts to quickly and efficiently inspect and rebuild damaged housing while also restructuring and updating its approach to building code enforcement to ensure long-term resilience to future storms. We mobilized immediately to implement enforcement mechanisms for the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code, assist and train local building departments, builders and contractors, and homeowners.
